Bad news, guys. Random House is not offering up Reading Bingo this year. The good news is, there are plenty of other sites and blogs that have come up with reading challenges for 2015, ranging from a few tasks to well over a hundred. (Reading challenges seem to be quite popular these days!) But the bad news is, I didn’t really like any of those. So the best news of all is, I made one just for us!
We’re NOT calling it a challenge, though. That makes it sounds like a chore. So, for your bibliophilic pleasure, I present the Shelf-Absorbed Reading Adventure for 2015!
There’re only two rules: You can only use a book once (no repeating for multiple squares) and only books you read in 2015 count (whether they are new to you or re-reads).
There are no right or wrong answers. You may interpret the categories as broadly as you wish. (Not to mention that I won’t be double-checking anything!) And I’ll make it even easier; I’ll allow you ONE wildcard. If you’re really stuck on a category and just can’t find a suitable book, you can read any book that I mentioned in any of my past posts, and claim it for a Reading Adventure square.
If you think this is going to be easy for me just because I made it up, think again! I didn’t just base the categories on the books I was thinking of reading anyway. (Okay, maybe I did in one or two cases. What can I say, there’s a book about elephants I want to read.) But the point is to stretch, so for the most part, these are not “gimmes” for me and I have no clue yet what books will fill my squares.
I’m trying not to plan my reading ahead of time so much this year, so I’m not going month by month this time. But I’ll check in with you every once in a while. Feel free to comment at any time letting us know how you’re doing! And of course, send me the finished product at the end of the year. If you’d like, download this PDF version of the card to keep track.
Ready? Let’s go!!
ok you’re on-this is very creative -how did you think of all of these?
